Second project we have done for the very talented Dan Lemmon and Signy.
It was an interesting project because Dan and Signy were very involved in the deisgn process. Before they came to me, they had already modelled the project in sketchup! It made me reconsider the way architecture is likely to work in future when modelling programmes like sketch up and more complicated BIM programmes like the one I use (Archicad) become more accessible and more widely used by people outside the “profession”. Will this have the impact publishing had on writing/ reading? Imagine the impact this might have on the wider comminities appreciation of spatial design and construction. Will it be the demise of the arkhos tekton (chief builder – greek root word for architect).
If this project is anything to go by – then I think its going to be very healthy to have more informed clients that can model and interrogate options. In the end we ended up coming up with some new ideas together and it was a great project which I really enjoyed. Consruction should start early 2019.
